GRP Rods and Tubes Fibreglass GRP tubes are stocked in a number of diameters and wall thickness. They are all made by the pultrusion process so have high glass contents and excellent mechanical properties. All of the tubes have a corrosion/weathering barrier built into the surface to give the maximum long-term performance in the most demanding environments.

What Are The Main Material Properties?

With GRP Rods and GRP Tubes, there are some main material properties that make them the number one choices for many different application areas such as mechanical engineering, construction, and electrical engineering. One of the main material properties of rods and tubes is the fact that they are corrosion and chemical-resistant. Further material properties also include low thermal conductivity, weather resistance, and high elastic recovery properties.

What Are The Main Application Areas?

GRP Tubes and GRP Rods are used for a number of application areas. As well as the ones already mentioned above, GRP rods and tubes can also be used for water treatment, greening systems, solar systems, wind turbines, agriculture, filtration technology, and measurement technology. The main colours to select from that we have readily available in our store to purchase today include black and white.

Are GRP Rods Better Than Conventional Rods?

Conventional rods are mainly manufactured from wood and or aluminium. And while they still may have a place in the industry, they no longer compare with GRP rods that offer much better strength, stability, and reliability. Unlike materials such as wood, GRP rods do not compose and they are not at risk of rust formation which makes them a particularly popular choice as they require little maintenance. Furthermore, they are also electrically insulating.

What Sectors Do You Serve?

Here at Engineered Composites, we supply rods and tubes to a diverse range of sectors including marine, rail, construction, water, and many more. In most cases, we are able to cater for next-day deliveries as we understand that a lot of the sectors we work with require urgent deliveries.

Why Choose Engineered Composites?

When you choose Engineered Composites, you are putting your trust in the UK’s leading supplier of GRP products that operate with the highest integrity at all times. For total peace of mind, all product enquiries and conceptual designs are treated in the strictest confidence. We have also been well established for over 35 years.

"Absolutely massive thank you to Bethan Jones and Melanie Perkins who have helped us out with GRP handrail design this week. This would have taken much longer without your input."
