GRP PROFILES

GRP Angle Profiles

Engineered Composites supplies pultruded GRP equal angle profiles to BS EN 13706 E23 grade, available from 25x25mm to 100x100mm for structural framing, edge protection, and support applications in corrosive and electrically sensitive environments.

grp-angle-1

Engineered Composites Engineered Composites supplies pultruded GRP equal angle profiles in a range of sizes from 25x25mm to 100x100mm with wall thicknesses from 3mm to 10mm. Profiles are manufactured to BS EN 13706 E23 grade using isophthalic polyester resin and available in grey from UK stock in 6m lengths, with cut-to-length available.

GRP angle profiles are used as structural framing members, grating edge trim and support cleats, cable tray support brackets, platform corner framing, and fixing clips in environments where steel would corrode or where electrical non-conductivity is required. They are approximately one quarter of the weight of equivalent steel angle and require no surface treatment.

GRP Angle Profiles

Pultruded GRP Angle Sections for Structural and Support Applications

GRP angle profiles provide a lightweight, corrosion-resistant alternative to steel angle in environments where steel would degrade, create a conductivity hazard, or generate unacceptable maintenance costs. Manufactured by pultrusion to a continuous cross-section, each profile delivers consistent mechanical properties along its full length, with longitudinal tensile strength up to 240 MPa at E23 grade.

The profiles are compatible with all standard GRP fixings and bolt connections and can be cut, drilled, and fabricated on site using standard composite cutting tools. All sizes comply with BS EN 13706 E23 and carry ECL’s ISO 9001:2015 quality assurance.

Key Performance Features

grp-angle-2

Corrosion-Free Structural Framing

GRP angle sections resist the corrosion that degrades steel in water treatment, marine, and chemical environments. No painting or galvanising is required, reducing both installation cost and long-term maintenance spend.

Non-Conductive in Sensitive Environments

GRP angle profiles are electrically non-conductive, making them the correct choice for platform framing, cable support, and structural brackets adjacent to electrical equipment, rail infrastructure, and data centre cable management.

Lightweight for Fast Fabrication

At roughly one quarter of the weight of steel equivalent, GRP angle is easy to cut, handle, and assemble on site. No hot works permits are required and no crane or heavy lifting equipment is needed for standard fabrication projects.

GRP Angle for Platform Framing, Cable Support, and Structural Brackets

Engineered Composites holds GRP equal angle in a full range of sizes from UK stock for same-week despatch. Products are used across water utilities, rail, data centres, marine, and general industrial applications.

Grating Support and Edge Trim

GRP angle is used as edge trim, bearing cleats, and support framing for GRP grating panels. Compatible with all ECL grating products and standard clip fixings.

Platform and Walkway Framing

Angle sections form the corner and edge framing members of GRP access platforms and walkways alongside I-beam and channel primary structure.

Cable Tray and Management Support

Non-conductive GRP angle is used as cable tray supports and brackets in data centres, substations, and electrically sensitive facilities where steel would create a conductivity or corrosion risk.

Marine and Offshore Applications

GRP angle resists saltwater corrosion and biological attack without maintenance, making it suitable for vessel framing, jetty supports, and offshore equipment brackets.

Common Applications for GRP Angle Profiles

GRP angle profiles are used across a wide range of structural, support, and framing applications in environments where corrosion resistance, non-conductivity, and low maintenance are required.

Structural Framing & Support Members

Angle profiles provide lightweight edge framing and structural support for GRP access platforms, mezzanine decking, walkway systems, and modular industrial structures.

Cable Tray & Management Support

Non-conductive GRP angle is used to fabricate cable tray support brackets, tray edging, and cable management frames in electrical, substation, and rail environments where conductivity must be eliminated.

Grating Edge Trim & Surround Fixing

Angle sections provide a clean, secure edge trim and fixing surround for GRP grating panels on platforms, walkways, and stair treads, maintaining structural integrity at panel edges.

Platform Corner & Bracket Fabrication

Used to fabricate corner brackets, mid-span supports, and fixing cleats for GRP access platforms and handrail base connections in water treatment, chemical, and offshore environments.

Marine & Offshore Applications

Saltwater resistant and corrosion-free for structural framing, bracket fabrication, and support members on jetties, pontoons, and offshore platform structures.

Rail & Trackside Infrastructure

Non-conductive throughout with no earthing required. Suitable for trackside cable management, platform edge framing, and depot maintenance structure fabrication.

Chemical & Water Treatment Plants

Resistant to acids, alkalis, chlorine, and H2S. Used for structural angle framing, tank support brackets, and equipment mounting in corrosive process environments.

Defence & Sensitive Installations

Non-magnetic and non-conductive for structural framing and support brackets in defence facilities, substations, and electrically sensitive environments where steel is not suitable.
