GRP Mini Mesh Grating
Engineered Composites supplies GRP mini mesh grating manufactured with a 14x14mm mesh aperture and 12mm clear opening. It is specified in place of standard open mesh wherever the mesh size must be controlled, either for safety compliance under Approved Document K, to prevent small objects falling through into equipment below, or to meet narrow-heeled footwear requirements on public access structures.
Available in 14mm, 30mm, and 38mm depths from a standard panel size of 4047x1247mm, mini mesh grating is manufactured from isophthalic polyester resin with quartz grit bonded to the surface for R13 wet slip resistance. Panels are supplied in grey from UK stock.
Fine Aperture GRP Grating for Safety-Critical Environments
Mini mesh grating is the correct specification choice when the open area of standard 38x38mm or 50x50mm grating presents a risk of entrapment, object loss, or regulatory non-compliance. With a 12mm clear opening between bars, it meets the requirements of BS EN ISO 14122-2 and Approved Document K for walkways where the risk of heel penetration or small object ingress must be eliminated.
ECL stocks mini mesh panels in three depths to suit varying span and load requirements. All panels feature an embedded quartz grit anti-slip surface and are manufactured to BS EN 4592. Panels can be supplied cut to specification free of charge.

Key Performance Features
- 14x14mm mesh aperture with 12mm clear opening for safety-critical applications
- Compliant with BS EN ISO 14122-2 for permanent means of access to machinery
- Meets Approved Document K requirements for narrow-heeled footwear environments
- Quartz grit anti-slip surface achieving R13 wet slip resistance
- Manufactured to BS EN 4592 for GRP grating products
- Corrosion and chemical resistant construction, maintenance free
- Non-conductive: suitable for electrically sensitive environments
- Available in 14mm, 30mm, and 38mm depths from UK stock
Controlled Aperture for Compliance
The 12mm clear opening eliminates entrapment risk on walkways, platforms, and machinery access areas where open mesh would not meet Approved Document K or BS EN ISO 14122-2.
Same Performance, Finer Mesh
Mini mesh delivers the same corrosion resistance, electrical non-conductivity, and quartz grit anti-slip performance as standard open mesh with a significantly reduced aperture.
Lightweight and Cut to Size
Panels are lightweight for easy handling and can be supplied cut to specification free of charge on all stocked mini mesh grades.
GRP Mini Mesh Grating for Industrial, Pharmaceutical, and Public Access Applications
Engineered Composites holds UK stock of GRP mini mesh grating for fast project delivery. The product is widely used in pharmaceutical and food processing facilities, machinery access platforms, public footbridges, and anywhere that the designer must demonstrate compliance with foot entrapment or object containment requirements.
Compliance Without Compromise
Mini mesh panels satisfy foot entrapment requirements under Approved Document K and BS EN ISO 14122-2 while delivering the full performance benefits of the ECL GRP grating range.
Chemical and Pharmaceutical Environments
The reduced aperture prevents small components and contaminants from passing through the floor, making mini mesh the correct choice for chemical processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and cleanroom-adjacent access areas.
UK Stock, Fast Delivery
ECL holds mini mesh grating in all three depths from UK stock. Panels can be delivered next day for projects with programme pressure.
Cut to Size Before Despatch
ECL's free cut-to-size service means mini mesh panels arrive on site ready to install, reducing waste and labour time.

Common Applications for Mini Mesh GRP Grating
Marina Decking & Pontoons
Corrosion-free and anti-slip in saltwater conditions. Compact mesh prevents small objects from falling through on marina and pontoon surfaces.
Gangways & Boardwalks
Smaller aperture provides a smoother walking surface and improved pedestrian safety on gangways and public access structures.
Water Treatment & Utilities
Resistant to chlorine, H2S, and chemical exposure on walkways, platform covers, and access areas within treatment works and pumping stations.
Chemical & Pharmaceutical Plants
Withstands aggressive chemicals without coating failure where larger aperture grating would create a slip or drop hazard.
Rail & Train Stations
Non-conductive throughout. Suitable for high-traffic platform areas, depot walkways, and trackside access where safety is critical.
Electrical Substations & Utility Sites
Non-conductive and non-magnetic flooring for substation cable floors and utility site walkways where worker safety under fault conditions is essential.
Rooftop & Mezzanine Access
Lightweight with no hot works required. Compact mesh surface suitable for rooftop plant access and mezzanine flooring.
Industrial Walkways & Equipment Surrounds
Anti-slip and corrosion resistant for walkways surrounding industrial equipment in factories, processing plants, and warehouses.

What Clients Say About Our Company
EXCELLENT Based on 10 reviews Posted on Peter Nicholson20/04/2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The firm and staff were all excellent, the product was very well finished and all the advice given was very helpful, unfortunately it turned out to be of no use for my application, but this in no way reflects on the company that made an excellent product, I wanted a long tube to put an aerial inside it, fibreglass is normally transparent to radio signals, but something in the make up of the fibreglass tube was totally blocking the radio signals from getting out of the tube, the problem is possibly to do with the colouring agent, the tube I had was grey, darker colours can often cause problems for aerials, possibly if I'd chosen yellow, the other colour offered by the firm it may have worked well, but all this is my problem, not the company that made the tube, the tube is Very well made and nicely finished off, the staff could not have been more helpful, despite my problems this is a Highly Recommended firm.
