GRP Handrail Stanchions
Engineered Composites Engineered Composites supplies GRP handrail stanchions in 51mm square hollow section pultruded profiles, compatible with the ECL modular handrail system and ENGRail proprietary handrail. Stanchion posts are fixed to the platform or structure via injection-moulded GRP base plates available in two-hole and three-hole variants in yellow and grey.
GRP stanchion posts provide the structural upright element of the handrail assembly. They are electrically non-conductive throughout, corrosion resistant in wet and chemically aggressive environments, and available from UK stock in yellow and grey for same-week project delivery. Post height is cut to the required dimension from standard lengths as part of ECL’s cut-to-length service.
GRP Stanchion Posts and Base Plates for Modular Handrail Systems
GRP handrail stanchion posts are the vertical structural element of the ECL modular handrail system. Manufactured from 51mm SHS pultruded box section to BS EN 13706 E23 grade, they are designed to carry the horizontal loads imposed by handrail rails and guard rails in compliance with BS 6180 and BS EN ISO 14122-3.
Base plates are available in two-hole and three-hole variants, both in yellow and grey. The three-hole base plate provides a larger fixing footprint for higher loading applications and is recommended wherever the post is subject to higher impact or barrier load requirements. For applications requiring Public Assembly loading compliance, the ENGRail system provides an independently tested and certified solution at 1.657 kN/m.
